Russia deployed Su-30 fighters in Crimea

армия 4Russian Su-30 fighters are already based on the former Ukrainian government airfield Belbek (Crimea, near Sevastopol), said Acting Governor of Sevastopol Sergei Menyailo.

He did not specify the number of aircraft, but sources of RIA Novosti reported about deployment of up to 20 fighters.

Menyailo reminded about the decision made by the Russian Government to convert “Belbek” into the airport of dual use – military and civilian. There will be necessary to make additional parkings and grounds to base military aircraft.
